My Unattractive Trip to Thailand
Today I woke up at 4am to catch the 5am plane to Thailand, I was sent to do research on dogfights. The plane ride was long very long it felt like forever, when finally off i am on my way to a hotel called Lebua at State Tower. Its simply amazing, so beautiful! The temperature is so hot and the scenery is gorgeous until you reach some parts of Bangkok that arn't so nice. As i walk down this street not knowing what anyone is saying, its so crowded , so busy the streets are filled with people. I see a big crowd of people circling something... there's fences in a big circle so the people stay out of the way. Could it be? a dog fight! I found one finally.
As I enter the crowd I push through the sweaty people to the very front by the fence. What I see is horrific, as I hold in my tears I watch a very muscular Pitbull and a very large Rottweiler try and rip each other apart. Its hard to think that all of these people are cheering , i ask myself "how do they get entertainment from this?" I would ask questions to the people around me but the cheering and dogs are just too much, i dont think anyone speaks English anyways. I take pictures and write what I see. Blood a lot of blood, poor innocent dogs trained to rip each other apart until their death. How could you possibly train your own loving dog to do such a thing?
Put two murderers into a cage, only give them their fists and make them fight until their death while cheering them on. These owners that put these poor dogs to their death should be in this cage, jail isn't good enough. I hear a yelp i watch as the rottweiler falls to the ground bloody, torn up, flaps of skin, the smell of death in the air. Im mad, im upset so upset! I hate this image why did i come here, i leave the crowd i cant take anymore torcher. I go back to my hotel, i realize Thailand isn't so nice after all. The next day i catch the first flight home, i have all the research i need. I'm torn up inside for witnessing something so horrific, all i can think of is the owners should be punished. i wish i could have saved those beautiful dogs i wish i could save them all. Oh Canada thank you for banning dogfights, but please help stop others.
